I fail to GYOB at The Institute.

Anthony Bradley starts it off, and some dude named tusc0n goes deep. I try to pull them up for air with this rant.
Nations are irrelevant. If we are Christians, then we have no other allegiance. We do not attach ourselves to any pagan institution. It is not wrong to contract or covenant with a group [...]

Michael Clemens FTR from Sharing My Idea

The Economist reports Michael Clemens sharing my idea,
Our real moral concern should not be the Central African Republic, but its unfortunate denizens. The best thing for their prospects may simply be to get out–to leave for a place where growth has already commenced.
And there’s a book by Lant Pritchett which we can download and read [...]

Peter Boettke FTR from Being Optimistic

“things are getting better all the time and the march toward greater freedom and prosperity is almost inevitable. The key word there is “almost”.

For example:
He can’t process his own meat.
He can’t charge for tours of his farm.
He can’t engage in collaboration with his neighbors.
He can’t hire the local kids [...]

Ben Stein fails to refrain from getting Expelled

In a new documentary Ben Stein looks into the academy’s reluctance to open debate about Intelligent Design. I’m not putting my Labrador into this match, especially to defend this guy.
And here’s the gratuitous link to one of the best lines from the 80’s:
…. er, what gives?!? No one has downloaded, “Bueller?…Bueller?” to YouTube yet? [...]

I’ve met some of these people

I heard this first on the Brad and Brit show, and it’s sad.  Just sad.  But true.

He is Such an Ape

Monkeys in Kenya are failing to refrain from making lewd gestures at farmer women and are stealing their corn.
The BBC says so.
